Australia does not currently have a digital nomad visa, but does offer a Working Holiday Visa (WHV), which allows a stay of up to 12 months from the first entry into Australia and allows any temporary work, but prohibits working for the same employer for more than six months.
The Australian Working Holiday Visa is only granted once in a lifetime to those who qualify, and participation in required agricultural work may entitle you to an additional 12-month visa.

New Zeeland

Currently, there is no official digital nomad visa in New Zealand, but it is on the way.
In September 2023, the New Zealand National Party released a proposal for a program to attract overseas talent:

  • international graduates visa (international graduates visa) – a 3 year open work visa for undergraduate or higher degree holders who have graduated from one of the world’s Top 100 universities within the last 5 years, which will be limited to 500 places in the first year;
  • global growth tech visa – a direct resident visa for applicants with high end special skills who work in top global tech companies and earn up to N$400,000 per annum, 250 places will be available in the first year. ;
  • digital nomad visa – a 12-month visa designed to attract technically senior, mobile working talent to New Zealand while working remotely for an overseas company, with the option of applying for a work or resident visa at a later date if they choose to stay. Work or Resident visas. The visa is open to a maximum of 250 people in the first year.
